On August 6, EAS Latin America expert Clara Giudice will present on “Marketing functional foods and food supplements in Latin America: regulatory opportunities on permitted ingredients and related claims” giving companies a view of the opportunities and challenges across the region. In addition, she will give a regional overview of permitted ingredients and related health claims for functional foods and food supplements, addressing the existing harmonized regulations in Latin America, highlight some of the key regulatory developments underway in the region in these areas, and explaining the requirements for the scientific substantiation of claims in key markets.

Considering that regulation requirements are not always clear, elements such as scientific substantiation of claims can be a major challenge for some markets. Therefore, I will address these key points to help attendees navigate the regulatory environment to successfully launch their products,” she continued.
