Vets Plus, Inc., Menomonie, WI, has developed Probios Pro-Pill Pods to provide a convenient way to give medication to dogs. The pods can be shaped around a pill to mask unsavory flavors and odor, while providing probiotics to aid digestion, appetite and nutrient absorbtion.
Available in two flavors—peanut butter or chicken—Pro-Pill Pods have shown 95% palatability in testing.
Pro-Pill Pods contain no added sugars, no corn and no artificial colors. The pods, which are naturally flavored with real chicken and peanut butter, are available in two sizes that fit most capsules and tablets. Pro-Pill Pods join the Probios line along with five soft chews containing yogurt and probiotics and dental sticks, which were announced earlier this year.
