Sabinsa Corporation, East Windsor, NJ, has been awarded U.S. Patent #8329743 for its latest research efforts toward an effective and beneficial formula for weight management. The composition combines the beneficial synergistic effects of polyisoprenylated benzophenones, stilbenes and anthocyanins to enable weight loss. While this patent provides scientific basis for the synergistic use of GarCitrin, Stilbene polyphenols such as Silbinol, the natural trans-Pterostilbene and anthocyanins in weight management products, it applies to any formula utilizing polyisoprenylated benzophenones, stilbenes and anthocyanins.
The company has also been granted U.S. Patent #8329095 related to SabiLize, a natural preservative composition. The patent covers its application as an antioxidant/anti-microbial preservative component for pre-pasteurized cosmetic formulations. In order to address the challenge in finding a natural preservative for topical products, the R&D team at Sabinsa developed SabiLize New. At 0.5% in creams it was found to be significantly effective against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, as well as Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. The constituents of SabiLize New are completely natural, effective at significantly low doses, have significant antioxidant potential and also have a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity.
