GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) from Ganeden Biotech, Cleveland, OH, is being introduced in significant South American markets through a distribution agreement with Grupo Saporiti, S.A.
Saporiti will be the distributor of GanedenBC30 in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Venezuela.
“The South American population continues to be increasingly concerned with health and wellness and are demanding functional foods and beverages to help support a healthy lifestyle,” said Michael Bush, senior vice president of Ganeden Biotech. “Our new relationship with Saporiti will provide us the opportunity to introduce the unique capabilities of GanedenBC30 to the South American market; while leveraging Saporiti’s 80+ years of education and experience.”
“Chronic health problems and unhealthy eating habits direct consumers towards functional foods and beverages that can help them live a better quality of life,” says Esteban Saporiti, commercial director of Grupo Saporiti. “Holistic health is closely tied to the digestive system and unfortunately due to stress and other factors the digestive system can become unbalanced; probiotics aid in balancing intestinal function and therefore present great growth opportunity,” added Mr. Saporiti. “The Saporiti Group believes there is a competitive advantage to being a distributor of the probiotic GanedenBC30 that can be formulated into a variety of innovative food and beverage applications where other probiotics are unable to be used.”
