Along the way he professes to meeting some amazing people who have far exceed his awareness and experience—thus the notion that he can always learn something from someone. Michael strives to achieve a standard and model for the supplement industry, which is to bring science and efficacy to the marketplace. To that end he remains committed to doing his part with science and performance of his company’s ingredients. He currently lives in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico, with his wife. His kids are grown and achieving their life’s dreams and goals. Michael has had breakthrough healings to recover from a serious injury and feels honored to walk this path with his fellow industry colleagues.
I recently found him walking along Paseo de Peralta Street in Santa Fe.
Health E-Insights: What is most important to your organization, mission, core values or vision?
Mr. Jeffers: Our core mission is to make a difference in the health of people with natural alternatives. Over the past 100 years society has been trained to consider synthetic options first, but not too long ago these were not around so man had natural solutions to health issues. I enjoy watching natural remedies make a difference in the same fashion that many drugs might make. I suspect drugs are here to stay so there is no reason that both cannot work together. We also advocate right thinking or the ability to harness the power of belief to translate into positive health and healing.
Health E-Insights: Do you see major changes taking place in the supplement industry?
Mr. Jeffers: Unfortunately the abuses of the supplement industry have tainted the good achieved by many companies. Therefore, I see the health Industry becoming a modified version of the pharmaceutical industry. This is the primary reason Helios has modified its business model to make certain all natural ingredients we bring to the commercial sector have at least a phase one clinical. Our next step is to now achieve phase two clinicals with our line-up of ingredients available to the manufacturers and consumers. We have finished our first phase two with EstroG-100 in the menopause category and we are finishing the next phase two with NC-518 for significantly increasing bone density.
Health E- Insights: Is there a supplement that you consider the next generation Vitamin-C?
Mr. Jeffers: Indeed. Transport C-PLUS is the next generation vitamin C because we have developed and applied a patented, new matrix of science not conducted prior in the commercial sector. That is the application of alpha lipoic acid combined with calcium ascorbate salts, and ascorbic acid. This knowledge has been proven at the university level and now into the human side where Transport C-PLUS is proven to reduce the oxidative stress on vitamins as it enters the bloodstream but also continues to work successfully as the vitamin C passes through the kidneys. Therefore, the percentage of bioavailable vitamin C post kidneys is significant with in vivo and in vitro models. Transport C is in the process of conducting another in vivo study in different dosage rates in order to continue the building process toward our current and previous research models. Transport C-PLUS is now available in the public domain via the commercial application and success of NOW Foods per their formula called Alpha Sorb C. We have several beverage companies formulating and integrating Transport C-PLUS into finished formulas with the intent of taking advantage of the performance components Transport C-PLUS might add its own structure function claims.
Health E-Insights: What makes you laugh?
Mr. Jeffers: I recently returned from Rome and I was constantly amused by the street actors and their version of performance art for a coin or two in their tin can but I very much laugh at the silly things I personally do and the humor of how serious I was at the time of action.
Health E-Insights: What’s the best compliment you've ever received?
Mr. Jeffers: I’m almost too embarrassed to discuss this but the highest honor I was given came from a street person who indicated I was the kindest person they had ever met. I strive for right thinking, integrity and to do what you say you are going to do.
