Chickapea, a plant-based, high-protein pasta company, recently conducted a consumer survey of Canadians to determine their attitudes on protein intake. According to the results, 55% of Canadians included in the company’s survey felt that they’re not eating an adequate amount of protein daily.
Furthermore, 100% of the respondents said that protein was an important part of their diet, and that lunch was the most difficult meal to include it in. Additionally, 91.8% of the respondents said that they would like to include plant-based protein sources, as part of a flexitarian diet.
Out of the Canadians surveyed, 25.8% said that they have a maximum of 15 to 30 minutes to cook a meal during the week. 63.6% of respondents with children said they feel that their children do not eat enough protein each day.
“The importance of protein for overall health and wellness has garnered more attention over the past few years, yet it’s clear many Canadians still don’t feel like they’re incorporating enough into their daily diet,” Shelby Taylor, founder of Chickapea, said. “As an entrepreneur and mom of two boys, I understand the importance of finding convenient, quick, and healthy meals that are high in protein.”
