    Area Code 420 (AC 420): Please provide an overview of Mile High Labs.

    Mueller: Mile High Labs is one of the largest extractors of CBD isolate in the world. Isolate is the purest, most consistent form of CBD. It’s easy for formulators to work with and can be incorporated into a variety of products with minimal impact on taste and smell. Our GMP-certified process ensures our products are the safest, most consistent, and highest quality available in the marketplace. We’re based in Colorado and have offices in the U.K. and New Zealand. It’s our hope to have a presence in all parts of the globe in coming years.

    AC 420: What is your company’s competitive advantage?

    Mueller: Our Mile High Monster is the culmination of three years of process development and engineering that we have put into developing the first industrial scale, purpose-built hemp extract machine. The Monster is a modular extraction facility that we can install directly on a hemp farm. This allows us to process 50 acres per day of hemp into full spectrum oil, the baseline ingredient from which CBD products are made. The Monster has allowed us to increase our production by about 500%. The other major advantage is our unmatched focus on quality and compliance. We manufacture in a GMP-compliant facility. This ensures our products are the highest quality, the most consistent, and simply the best for our customers. We also have a large staff of regulatory and compliance experts, many of whom have come from the pharmaceutical industry. In the end, Mile High Labs is all about quality. We take it very seriously. It is part of every process.

    AC 420: Talk about CBD isolate and its benefits.

    Mueller: The industry is moving very quickly, and our hope is that the medical research will move quickly as well. We are very encouraged by the interest in CBD from a health and wellness perspective. While it’s clear there needs to be more research on the subject, people all over the country—and in fact, the world—enjoy having CBD as part of their routine. We believe isolate is CBD in its truest form. Many CBD products on the market use full- or broad-spectrum hemp extracts, meaning they carry not just the sought after cannabidiol, but several other cannabinoids in varying concentrations.

    AC 420: What has been your most effective marketing tactic or technique?

    Mueller: To be honest, our product has been our number one marketing tactic. People in the business know our isolate is the purest, most consistent, and highest quality. They know they can count on us to provide supply on time, no matter the quantity. The industry is growing but word-of-mouth is still how people know about us.

    AC 420: Which is most important to your organization, mission, core values, or vision?

    Mueller: Our core values are quality, safety, consistency, and compliance. This refers to our isolate, of course, but it also applies to every aspect of our business.

    AC 420: Will technology continue to change your company and the CBD industry?

    Mueller: At its core, Mile High Labs is a technology company. We have been and will continue to be innovators and pioneers in hemp extraction and cannabinoid purification. A focus on engineering and science has been a key differentiator of Mile High Labs from day one. Beyond our manufacturing process, we use blockchain technology to track product from seed to sale and GPS technology to track our supply chain. Mile High Labs already has a significant quality assurance (QA) process that includes technology commonly found in pharmaceutical and biotech companies. We hope other companies will follow our lead and strive to have the highest level of QA.
