In results of a multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled human clinical study published by the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry; researchers found that people experienced significant improvement in joint discomfort levels and the ability to participate in everyday activities, after taking BioCell Collagen. BioCell Collagen contains highly bioavailable forms of the major constituents of human joints: collagen type II, hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate. Previous studies have demonstrated that BioCell Collagen was effectively absorbed into the bloodstream, indicating that hydrolyzed collagen-derived peptides are deposited into the joint cartilage to protect and to stimulate the chondrocytes to produce collagen type II; a main structural building block of soft connective tissue and joint cartilage; and other molecules essential for the cartilage structure.
