Three leading associations will share regulatory and legislative information between officials in the U.S. and Japan, increasing trade between the two countries and making dietary/food supplements more accessible to Japanese consumers. The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), Washington, D.C., the Natural Products Association (NPA), Washington, D.C., and the National Nutritional Foods Association of Japan (NNFA-J) will share news of emerging regulations and legislation impacting health claims, food safety, food ingredients and dietary/food supplements, helping both countries to understand how their counterparts are addressing these issues. A delegation of CRN and NPA scientists and executives from member companies will meet with Japanese industry as represented by NNFA-J in Tokyo this summer to establish a working group and discuss concrete measures for an effective alliance. NNFA-J also plans to send a delegation to Washington this year.
