Valio-Vache Bleue, Brussels, Belgium, has launched Valio Gefilus, a low-fat cheese product of the Emmental type with lactobacillus GG (LGG). LGG is a probiotic bacteria scientifically proven to impart a positive effect on the intestinal mucousa, helping to boost the body’s natural immune response and antibody formation, according to the company. The company recommends eating at least one slice, or one-sixth of a block (30 grams), a day to receive the beneficial dose of LGG.
