The California Dietetic Association (CDA), a branch of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), St. Louis, MO, has approved the International Probiotic Association’s (IPA) upcoming three-city probiotic lecture series for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) program hours. Dietitians who attend one of the three lectures will receive two hours of credit, which contributes to their continuing education credit for maintaining their registration as registered dietitians. The lecture series is sponsored by Jarrow Formulas, Los Angeles, CA, and will be held in San Diego (May 12, 2003), Los Angeles (May 13, 2003) and San Francisco (May 14, 2003), and is being organized by the IPA. The objective of this lecture series is to bring together experts in the field of probiotics that are devoted to the subject of probiotics in nutrition and human health. Particular emphasis will be placed on the physiology of the gut microflora, including their mechanisms of action and clinical applications.
