Jim Roza, Layn’s chief scientific officer, will deliver a presentation, “Polyphenols and Plant-based Bioactives for New Beverage Innovations,” in which he will discuss the advantages of tea extracts and other polyphenol-rich extracts for adding functional benefits to beverages. It will take place on the Business FIRST Stage on Monday, July 15 from 2:45 to 3:15 pm.
“Our 98% L-theanine tea extract represents a significant advancement in natural ingredient solutions, offering support for calm mood and healthy stress response,” said Roza. “We are excited to showcase our latest innovations at IFT FIRST and to share insights on how polyphenol-rich extracts can enhance functional beverages, in part due to their excellent antioxidant capabilities.”
At the booth, Layn will also be showcasing its line of water-soluble ingredients and demonstrating the capabilities of these functional extracts for beverage applications. These water-soluble extracts include cinnamon, ginger, green coffee bean, pomegranate and turmeric.
Layn will host a beer-tasting event at its booth on Tuesday, July 16 at 3 pm where guests will be invited to sample beer made with Layn's renowned monk fruit extract. This event will provide an opportunity for attendees to network and experience the versatility and application of Layn's natural ingredients in beverage formulations.
Throughout the show, Layn will be sampling prototype beverages including tea drinks formulated with Layn’s oolong, black, pu-erh and white tea extracts, as well as an energy drink made with its extracts of panax ginseng, caffeine, turmeric, and L-theanine from green tea.
