At Vitafoods Europe, ingredient supplier Kaneka Nutrients will mark the 15th anniversary of its flagship ingredient, Kaneka Ubiquinol, an electron-rich form of CoQ10.
The company will shed light on a new consumer research study exploring the effect of the ingredient on post-menopausal women. The research, conducted by an independent French research institute and a French lifestyle influencer Virginie Florin, includes live feedback from 200 women experiencing menopause who follow Florin. The women were asked to take a 200 mg daily dose of Kaneka Ubiquinol for two months and report back on their observations.
“With consumers beginning to talk more openly about the effects of menopause on health and wellness, there is a growing appetite for supplement manufacturers to develop new solutions in this space,” said Filip Van hulle, general manager of Kaneka Nutrients Europe. “Recent clinical studies have demonstrated the potential of Kaneka Ubiquinol™ to support post-menopausal health, but with this project we wanted to go directly to consumers to understand their first-hand experience of ubiquinol supplementation. We’re eager to share the results with our new and existing partners and to explore how we can work together to empower women through all stages of life.”
Attendees can sample new prototype applications of Kaneka Ubiquinol, which are suitable for several health applications and consumers.
This will include gummies, easy-to-swallow capsules, and snack bars, formulated to support several health areas including fertility, sports nutrition, cognitive and mental health, cardiovascular health, beauty from within, and healthy aging. In the New Product Zone, it will be featured in a multivitamin called Daily Essentials by Nutrissan, and in QuatroQuinol7, a capsule created in collaboration with Gnosis by Lesaffre to support fertility and contraception. Visitors can also try UB chocpro, a Belgian chocolate bar prototype formulated to support energy, at the Tasting Zone.
“We’re hugely excited to be back at the world’s leading nutraceutical show, and this year is particularly special for us as we celebrate 15 years of Kaneka Ubiquinol. I’ve been part of the journey since the very beginning and in this time we’ve developed a growing body of evidence to demonstrate the power of this magic ingredient. Now, we look forward to exploring the next chapter with some exciting projects underway to unlock the full potential of ubiquinol and support vitality at all life stages from conception to healthy aging,” said Van hulle.
Ubiquinol has been featured in 90 studies in the past 45 years, which evidence its role in benefitting cellular and mitochondrial function.
