Maypro, a global supplier of nutraceutical ingredients, is now certified as a USDA organic handler by Natural Food Certifiers.
This certification complies with USDA’s guideline requiring that organizations involved in handling unpackaged or repacking organic goods obtain organic handler certification which came as a result of recent updates to the USDA organic program. Maypro’s services include manufacturer auditing, GMP documentation, international registrations, liability insurance, repacking of ingredients, and more.
To become certified, applicants must demonstrate compliance with 7 CFR Part 205 of the USDA’s National Organic Program and Final Rule.
“As the demand for organic ingredients grows, this certification allows us to expand our inventory of organic products while continuing to provide our U.S. manufacturing customers with handling and repacking capabilities,” said Gary Goble, director of operations at Maypro.
“Maypro currently supplies numerous certified organic functional ingredients and we look forward to expanding our portfolio of certified organic ingredients,” said Isabel Elias-Castro, president of Maypro’s global nutrition group.
Maypro’s organic nutraceutical ingredients include AppleActiv-DAPP, a joint support product derived from upcycled apple peels.
