Wiley’s Finest has launched a new line of plant-based omega-3s gummy supplements, Plant Powered Nutrition, which features a combination of Ahiflower oil and an microalgae-derived DHA oil branded as Algarithm, in order to meet rising demand for plant-based omega-3 products.
“It has been our desire to launch a high-potency gummy product, to continue to serve our plant-focused consumers but the product had to be of premium quality, in dose, texture, and taste” said Greg Lindsey, Wiley’s Finest CEO. “We launched our CatchFree Omega products for consumers who choose a vegetarian, vegan, or flexitarian diet and get the essential fats recommended for optimal health. These products have exceeded our expectations and the growing population of plant-based shoppers has asked for more options. In 2022 we began work on a plant-based gummy product in response to the growing popularity for the gummy delivery system and increased awareness of the plant-based consumer for the highest quality Omega-3 products”.
The new gummy products are designed for both children and adults via an on-trend delivery format with focus on taste and texture.
Ahiflower is considered an alternative to flax oil, and contains several fats including ALA, SDA, and GLA fatty acids. SDA has unique properties which allow the body to more readily convert ALA to EPA. Meanwhile, Algarithm serves as a source of DHA which meets recommended daily requirements.
“I can say, we did not rush this product,” Lindsey said. “We had actually planned to introduce our plant-based gummies at [Natural Products Expo West] but we just weren’t there yet. The product had to be the highest quality in every way to align with other offerings in our Wild Alaskan Fish Oil, Plant Powered Nutrition, and Nutriment Plus lines. We believe we now have the optimum plant-based gummies for adults and children, and are very excited that these are now available to global consumers.”
