Burlington, VT-based Sunsoil, a certified organic hemp farm and CBD brand, has released an organic CBD gummy line.
Sunsoil noted this represents the “first organic certified CBD gummy from a nationally distributed brand.”
As the fourth-largest CBD retail brand in the U.S. according to sales, Sunsoil is staking its claim in the fast-growing CBD gummies segment, which is projected to grow to $14 billion by 2028.
Sunsoil said its gummies are “green, lean, and mean.”
The gummies—which are also vegan and gluten free—will debut in Cinnamon, with other flavors to follow.
"We never wanted to make CBD gummies. Initially, it didn’t feel right to mix hemp with sugar,” said Sunsoil Founder and CEO Alejandro Bergad.
Co-founder Jacob Goldstein added: “But our customers kept asking us to make a better gummy than the ones that they were buying elsewhere—a gummy with cleaner ingredients and with enough potency to provide real benefits.”
It took more than a year of development to arrive at the right formula, according to the company.
Most gummies on the market are made with CBD isolate, the company noted, whereas Sunsoil gummies are made with USDA organic, full-spectrum hemp extract that contains CBD along with an array of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds naturally found in hemp.
Sunsoil said its vertically integrated model allows it to make organic CBD products at lower prices than its competition.
The new gummies will be available for sale at participating retailers and online beginning Dec. 1.

- Green: USDA certified organic and made with Sunsoil’s whole-plant infused hemp extract—giving the gummies a natural, green color;
- Lean: The products contain 2 grams of sugar per serving (no artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols);
- Mean: Each gummy contains 20 mg of full-spectrum CBD, compared to 5-10 mg of CBD in current best-selling gummies.
