A group of global leaders have organized the nonprofit Women In Nutraceuticals (WIN) with a vision to “achieve economic and societal equity to change the global nutraceutical industry.”
WIN is focused on equal opportunity and representation of women in the boardroom and C-suite as well as maximizing funding for women-led businesses, and championing more women in science and research initiatives in female populations.
“The 2021 Women in the Workplace report showed that only 86 women to every 100 men are promoted to first-level manager, and women are under-represented in leadership roles across the nutraceutical industry,” said WIN President Heather Granato. “The lack of female leadership representation is a disservice to the industry as women represent the majority of consumers and consistently add significant value when they hold influential positions. WIN was formed to amplify women’s industry standing, and provide them support, resources, and tools to achieve professional and personal success.”
WIN’s founding members represent companies from around the world, including the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australasia. The executive board includes:
In 2022, WIN is focused on establishing benchmarking data on women’s roles in the industry, helping increase the percentage of women holding leadership roles, assisting with securing funding for female-led businesses, and ensuring female representation in research. WIN’s voice can be heard at industry trade shows and conference education events to further its mission.
