Farbest Brands became the exclusive distributor for two beta-carotene products in ZMC’s portfolio: Beta-Carotene Powder 1% CWS-K; and Beta-Carotene Oil Suspension 22%.
The former ingredient is a gelatin-free, cold-water dispersible powder for baking, and is best used as a fortifying agent and yellow colorant in baked goods, water-based foods, instant products, pudding, confectionary goods, and milk products.
The latter ingredient is an oil suspending agent used to color and fortify oil-based foods including margarine, edible oil, salad, and snacks. It features a vitamin A content of 366,740 IU/g.
Both products are clean-label colorants and a safe source of vitamin A and antioxidants, according to Farbest. The company will also continue to act as a North American distributor of other ZMC products, including beta-carotene, natural beta-carotene, natural lycopene, lutein, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin A acetate, vitamin E acetate, DL-alpha tocopherol, natural mixed tocopherols, and natural vitamin E acetate.
ZMC and Farbest Brands’ ten-year partnership combines ZMC’s expertise in ingredients with Farbest’s knowledge of the nutrition, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical market segments, the companies report.
“We’ve built a premiere relationship with ZMC over these last ten years,” Michael Sutich, Farbest’s director of product lines, said. “We couldn’t be more excited to bring these exclusive beta-carotene products to our North American customers.”
