Wilson Lau, owner of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herb supplier Nuherbs, launched two finished products which will be available in natural retail channels: Hello Dreams Strips, which contain melatonin and a blend of TCM herbs; and Good Morning Sunshine Coffee, recyclable pods which contain fair trade coffee infused with organic red ginseng and other adaptogenic herbs. The products are launched under a brand called NuTraditions.
Lau and his mother own the ingredient company Nuherbs, which has sustainably sourced TCM herbs for decades from long-standing partner farmers and wildcrafters in China and around the globe. The company reports that it is known for strict quality measures which extend to NuTraditions products. Their unique extraction customization capability enable the novel delivery of an efficacious dose of herbs in a small format.
“Life is stressful, especially now, and people are anxious. They can’t sleep, which is why this supplement product category is growing exponentially,” Lau said. “There are dozens of sleep supplements on the market, with a common complaint: the difference isn’t noticeable. While market-leader melatonin helps people fall asleep, many people wake up an hour or two later. Convenient Hello Dreams utilizes melatonin to help people quickly fall asleep. The TCM herbs then help them sleep well and longer, so they can face the day ahead rested. Just try it, it truly works. “
Hello Dreams Strips have a minty herbal taste as they begin to melt on the tongue before swallowing. The packaging and product are designed to have the lowest environmental impact possible, while maintaining quality and freshness.
Good Morning Sunshine Coffee, available in either Colombian or Guatemalan varieties, is fair trade certified with a potent dose of organic red ginseng extract, formulated to provide a day’s worth of energy. Red ginseng has traditionally been used to fight fatigue and provide immune support. The pods are compatible with Keurig brewers, are BPA-free, and allow for an exact amount of red ginseng extract needed to deliver an effective dose. According to the company, they can be fully recycled by peeling off the label and rinse to recycle. The boxes are made from 75% post-consumer waste and can also be recycled.
