Pursuing its strategic plan to lead the industry forward with a broad range of resources, perspectives and expertise for its membership and the natural health products industry at large, the United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA), Salt Lake City, UT, has announced a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) partnership with the CoQ10 Association.
As part of the formal agreement, the CoQ10 Association will work with UNPA to advance the state of CoQ10 dietary supplement education, research, safety and quality in the U.S. and globally.
The CoQ10 Association was founded in 2014 to add intelligent structure and intention to the growing CoQ10 market and facilitate stakeholder, health professional and consumer understanding and awareness of its well-known and newfound health benefits. The association consists of ingredient manufacturers, brand holders, retailers, health professionals and scientific journals committed to maintaining CoQ10 product integrity and efficacy, while working to build long-term demand for the ingredient around the world.
“The dietary supplement industry is rapidly evolving with new information and challenges almost daily,” said Scott Steinford, founder and executive director of the association. “CoQ10 is a recognized, important ingredient in the dietary supplement industry, and as such, the value of shared information, both to and from UNPA, serves to improve the knowledge base of both associations and the members they serve. The MOU between UNPA and the CoQ10 Association will also serve to support education initiatives on behalf of the ingredient and the industry as served by UNPA.”
“The rapidly evolving healthcare landscape is providing an important opportunity for well-researched and efficacious dietary supplements,” said Loren Israelsen, UNPA president. “CoQ10 has one of the strongest stories providing documented benefits for heart health patients, endurance athletes and aging populations. But there is still much work to build awareness and trust about CoQ10 among consumers and health professionals. We look forward to working with the association on this mission that will enhance perception of the industry as a whole.”
The CoQ10 Association joins a roster of 13 other UNPA MOU and commercial partners. UNPA organizes its key objectives and work plans through these partnerships that bring expertise, influence and trusted reputations. By laying out its joint objectives via an MOU, UNPA is able to serve the needs of its members and its industry stakeholders with greatest effect and efficiency.
