Healthy Directions, Bethesda, MD, a direct-to-consumer nutritional supplement and personal care company and wholly-owned subsidiary of Helen of Troy Limited has earned certification from NSF International for eight of its nutritional supplement products.
NSF International product certification helps consumers identify reliable high-quality dietary supplements. It is a comprehensive process that includes a review of the formula and label, testing to ensure label claims are met and there is an absence of contaminants, and verification that the product is manufactured in an NSF GMP (good manufacturing practice) registered facility.
The eight products that received NSF International product certification are part of two of Healthy Directions’ flagship product lines: Dr. Stephen Sinatra’s Omega Q Plus heart health supplements and Dr. Julian Whitaker’s Vision Essentials eye health supplements. The specific products certified include Omega Q Plus, Omega Q Plus Lutein, Omega Q Plus Resveratrol, Omega Q Plus Vitamin D, Omega Q Plus 100, Omega Q Plus 100 Resveratrol, Vision Essentials and Vision Essentials Gold.
“Earning NSF International certification for these products demonstrates Healthy Directions’ commitment to providing consumers with safe, superior-quality nutritional supplements,” said Connie Hallquist, president of Healthy Directions. “This esteemed recognition exemplifies our decades-long track record, which is also backed by a unique Triple Testing Philosophy that exceeds industry practices and entails rigorous screening of raw materials, 100% finished goods batch testing and independent laboratory testing for every product we sell.”
“The NSF International mark on Healthy Directions dietary supplements provides assurance to consumers that the product has been tested and certified by an independent public health organization to verify label contents and ensure there are no harmful levels of contaminants,” said Lisa Thomas, general manager of dietary supplement programs at global public health organization NSF International.
