Eustis, FL-based Valensa International and UAS Laboratories, Eden Prairie, MN, have entered a license and supply agreement that provides UAS access to Valensa’s patented Cran-Gyn ingredient for use in a new, patent-pending “triple action” women’s health product called Cran-Gyn DDS. This product combines Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS probiotics with Cran-Gyn—a concentrated, proprietary cranberry/d-mannose formulation. Cran-Gyn DDS offers a low-calorie, natural alternative to women for the management of urinary tract infection issues and yeast health management, as well as improvement of digestive health and immune function, in a low calorie easy-to-use dosage form with low “pill burden.” Valensa began the collaboration with UAS to explore the synergistic effects of probiotic products with the functioning of cranberry juice anthocyanins and natural d-mannose, along with immunity boosters and antioxidants that are present in Cran-Gyn.
Valensa has also entered a license agreement with Biova, LLC, Johnston, IA, which will allow Valensa to include the patented BiovaFlex water-soluble eggshell membrane ingredient in a new series of proprietary joint health products. Valensa was also granted a worldwide exclusive license for BiovaFlex in gummy-type chewables for joint health. BiovaFlex is a proprietary, natural ingredient rich in beneficial proteins, such as elastin, collagens and glycosaminoglycans (chondroitin-sulfate, glucosamine and hyaluronic acid), designed to support the stability and flexibility of synovial joint functions.
