An expanded study of Soy Labs’ (Fairfield, CA) CardioTrim CORE formula indicates that it produces significant reductions in body weight, blood glucose levels and cholesterol, according to recent research carried out by the company. The recent two-part study compared the effects of the CORE formula with Cissus quadrangularis (Cissus CQR-300), one of the formula’s components. A double-blind, placebo-controlled, human clinical study examined reductions in weight, body fat, cholesterol, triglycerides and fasting blood glucose levels. An in vitro study compared antioxidant capacity in obesity-induced oxidative stress. The human clinical portion of the study spanned a 6- and an 8-week period. While treatment with the CORE formula (8-week period) and Cissus CQR-300 (6-week period) both showed significant ability to improve heart disease and diabetes risk factors, the CardioTrim CORE formula outperformed Cissus CQR-300 alone. The in vitro portion of the study compared antioxidant capacity in obesity-induced oxidative stress using three testing methods, and each confirmed that the free radical scavenging capacity of the CardioTrim CORE formula was significantly higher than Cissus CQR-300 alone. This finding is important because it is believed that obesity-induced oxidative stress can lead to metabolic syndrome. This study was published in the peer-reviewed, scientific journal Lipids in Health and Disease.
