Database Designed for New Dietary Ingredient Notifications
The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), Silver Spring, MD, and NPIcenter, Mississauga, Ontario, have collaborated to create a database to access all notifications the FDA has received for new dietary ingredients (NDIs). The database can be searched by numerous relevant fields, including the generic or brand name of every 75-day notice (botanical and non-botanical), the Latin binomial of herbs and the name of the company that made the submission. The database also provides a concise “outcome statement” for each file that quickly summarizes how FDA has responded to every notification, and the problems, if any, that the agency identified for each.
Solbar Restructures Core Business Activities
Solbar Industries Ltd., Ashdod, Israel, has established two divisions responsible for all company activities in order to fulfill Solbar’s multi-year business goals. The Commodity division is in charge of production, sales and crushing of oil and soybeans in Israel. The Specialty division is responsible for R&D, production, marketing and sales of isolated and concentrated soy proteins, textured soy proteins and soy isoflavones to the global market.
