FrieslandCampina Ingredients, a global supplier of proteins and prebiotics, will return to SupplySide West to showcase Biotis Fermentis, a first-of-its-kind ingredient which combines proteins, prebiotics, and probiotics with fermentation in order to address digestive health concerns of athletes.
Exercise is linked to a strengthened gut microbiome, reduced inflammation, and greater energy levels, but intense training and dietary habits associated with heavy training can cause a variety of gastrointestinal issues, affecting an athlete’s overall wellbeing and performance.

But FrieslandCampina’s Good to Gut Prebiotic Gummy concept demonstrates that the company’s first prebiotic ingredient, Biotis GOS-OP High Purity, can be suitable for gummy formulations thanks to a galacto-oligosaccharide (GOS) content of greater than 90%.
Efficacy for the ingredient can be achieved in as low as two grams, opening new opportunities for brands to stand out in the gummy space, FrieslandCampina reported.
Plantaris Plant-based Protein
FrieslandCampina is also showcasing its Plantaris plant-based proteins range, and visitors will be able to try the company’s pea and Faba bean protein drink concepts, which are designed to overcome challenges like taste and dispersibility, enabling manufacturers to craft solutions to boost protein intake.
