dsm-firmenich will showcase its latest progress in gut support, cognitive performance, and women’s wellness solutions as an end-to-end partner for human nutrition.
Representatives from the company will be present to discuss how the recent merger between DSM and Firmenich has led to the elevated portfolio of products of the company.
Gut Support
With interest in gut health at an all-time high, dsm-firmenich will showcase its platform of products for this category. The company recently acquired Adare Biome, a postbiotic specialist, which will expand the company’s portfolio beyond its human milk oligosacchardies (HMOs), prebiotics, and enzymes.
“We’ve reimagined the approach to innovation in the gut health space, combining multi-ingredient solutions, leading-edge scientific expertise and deep consumer insights designed to unlock the holistic health possibilities of the gut microbiome at every life stage,” said Penny Antonopoulos, senior director of marketing and business development. “Our acquisition of Adare Biome is a recent example of our investment to progress in this field. Now, we are able to harness the exciting possibilities of postbiotic products, propelling the dietary supplements sector toward delivering novel solutions. Initially, we’ll be leveraging a proprietary bacterial combination Humiome Post LB featuring L. fermentum and L. delbrueckii, developed via Adare Biome’s patented ECHO process. The blend has undergone over a century of investigation resulting in more than 40 scientific publications in the digestive and immune health realm. This new addition to our Health from the Gut portfolio unlocks the potential for unique combinations with other ingredients such as prebiotics, probiotics and enzymes in innovative and enjoyable formats.”
Women’s Wellness
dsm-firmenich will also highlight its end-to-end capabilities in women’s health, including reproductive health and healthy aging. The company will present concepts for flagship ingredients such as life’sDHA, geniVida, and Vertis CanolaPro.
life’sDHA is a sustainable, plant-based docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) omega-3 sourced from algal oil, formulated to support infant brain and cognitive development during the first 1,000 days of life. At SupplySide West, visitors to Dsm-firmenich’s booth will have the opportunity to learn about high-dose solutions for the ingredient, which are evidenced to support full-term pregnancy.
The company’s Vertis CanolaPro high-purity plant-based protein isolate is designed to help women reach age-related protein needs sustainably, and geniVida, a soy-free non-GMO genistein based nutraceutical which is clinically evidenced to reduce the frequency and intensity of menopause-induced hot flashes, dsm-firmenich reports.
Cognitive Support
More than ever, consumers are thinking about cognitive performance, mood, mental-wellbeing, and sleep. dsm-firmenich’s portfolio ranges from essential nutrients for brain health to functional ingredients associated with improvements to cognitive performance.
dsm-firmenich is answering these demands with sustainable ingredients, and using formulation expertise to create on-trend delivery formats.
Sustainable Omega-3
dsm-firmenich’s life’sOmega will be on display. The 100% plant-based omega-3 is sustainably harvested with no impact on marine ecosystems, the company reports, and is available in new varieties such as life’sOmega 03020, the first algal omega-3 with the same EPA:DHA ratio found naturally in fish oil, but with twice the potency, the company reports.
The booth will also showcase O33-P100 powder, an algal EPA and DHA which offers significantly higher loading possibilities in gummies and other powdered formats.
The formation of dsm-firmenich brings together two iconic companies to create an industry-defining business with an exceptionally strong innovation platform,” comments Eric Choban, head of health, nutrition, and care at dsm-firmenich North America. “It’s an incredibly exciting time for the business and we welcome all to booth 4764 to learn more about how this union will transform the global health and nutrition industry to support customers’ innovations from concept to consumer.”
