Virginia Dare will showcase its flavor and product formats at IFT FIRST, an annual event taking place in Chicago July 11-13.
Attendees will be able to taste a menu of wellness- and nostalgia-inspired flavors including:
· Oat Milk Coffee Latte (caramel snickerdoodle flavor)
· Adaptogen Relaxation Gummy (raspberry black tea)
· Zero-proof Cocktail (pomelo grapefruit paloma flavor)
· Microwavable Keto Brownie Mix (chocolate mint scout cookie flavor)
· Whey Protein Drink (funnel cake fright dough flavor)
· Vitamin Pixy Stick (fruit rainbow candy flavor)
· Energy Shot (pucker patch berry candy flavor)
· Collagen Chocolate Chip Cookie
“When it comes to flavor, tasting is believing,” said Philip Caputo, marketing and consumer insights manager for Virginia Dare. “That’s why there’s something for everyone to taste at our booth this year. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy wellness their own way, and unique flavors and formats are how formulators can cater to this demand.”
Virginia Dare’s booth is split into two flavor themes, “Forever Young” and “Forever Well.” The first is an extension of the nostalgic trend of the past decade, featuring childhood favorites and child-adulthood hybrids that are associated with good, simple times. The latter showcases flavors we associate with health and wellness, and the functionally inspired taste profiles for modern wellness brands based on ingredients with inherent therapeutic properties or association from aromatic taste cues.
“Functionality can and should be fun,” Caputo said. “Our Forever Young and Forever Well themes are our rallying motivation for brands. Do something unique with your functional application, and consumers will take note.”
