Palm mixed tocotrienol complex and palm mixed carotenoids complex producer, ExcelVite, Edison, NJ, will showcase a range of newly developed palm carotenoid ingredients.
Consumers are increasingly demanding natural ingredients in their dietary supplements, food and drinks due to increased awareness of the potential negative health effects brought about by synthetic additives. Marketing research firm Nielsen reported in 2014 that over 60% of Americans will only purchase products that do not contain artificial colors or flavors. This has driven food and drink manufacturers to switch to natural food-based color ingredients for both new projects and reformulation.
ExcelVite produces non-GMO, natural, mixed carotenoid complexes from sustainably-sourced Malaysian red palm oil. The product EVTene oil concentrate contains mainly alpha-carotene, beta-carotene and other carotenoids such as gamma-carotene and lycopene. EVTene has the highest level of alpha-carotene compared to other commercial carotene sources in the market, according to the company. It is recommended for use as a natural yellow to orange food colorant and available in different forms such as water dispersible powder (EVTeneSol), emulsion (EVTeneSem) and beadlets (Alphabeads / EVTeneBeads) to cater for different product formulations.
At Ingredient Marketplace ExcelVite will showcase these carotenoids products as well as its flagship tocotrienol ingredients—EVNol, natural full spectrum palm tocotrienol complex and EVNol SupraBio, patented and bioenhanced natural full spectrum palm tocotrienol complex. Both palm carotenes and tocotrienols have been shown in research to contribute significant health benefits such as eye and heart health with the mixed carotenoids; brain, heart, liver and skin health with EVNol SupraBio, patented and bioenhanced palm tocotrienol complex.
“Consumers are increasingly demanding for transparency in their food and clean label. This means that they are doing a lot of research—about the products, about the environment, about nutrition and of course they are now reading product labels. As the leading mixed carotene and tocotrienol producer, ExcelVite is taking this demand seriously and doing its part in meeting formulators’ and manufacturers’ request to develop new product using natural non-GM ingredients,” said Bryan See, regional product manager, ExcelVite Inc., USA.
“We look forward to meeting with visitors at Ingredient Marketplace to discuss the science behind our flagship ingredients as well as what we can do together to address this rising trend,” added Mr. See.
ExcelVite’s EVTene and EVNol ingredients are produced according to GMP standards, Non-GMO Project Verified, GRAS with no objection letter by the FDA, Kosher and Halal.
