NOW has introduced 20 new product sizes, which will only be available for brick-and-mortar retailers to sell.
“The idea originated with the Independent Natural Food Retailers Association (INFRA) as something that would support these stores, which very much appeals to NOW,” said Dan Richard, NOW Health Group’s vice president of sales and marketing. “As far as we know, NOW is the only company offering SKUs that are exclusively sold in physical stores.”
The company has created new packages for top-sellers like 5-HTP, CoQ10, probiotics, and vitamin D, which will be available in store-only sizes between the small and large sizes usually offered.
Each product will carry an ‘in store only’ logo on the front of the label, and NOW’s fulfillment system has been coded to block any customer that has an online store from being able to order them.
NOW has provided support for independent retailers, including free programs like in-store merchandising materials and education sessions for store staff. To support physical retailers, NOW said that it resisted selling products on Amazon and other major online platforms for many years until consumer requests became too great.
“This is our latest effort to support physical independent and natural chain stores and we hope to expand the number of products offered if the program does well,” said Richard.
