Captek Softgel International has launched its first gummy manufacturing facility in La Mirada, CA. The new 60,000-square-foot facility can produce custom gummy formulations, flavorings, and bottling solutions.
The new facility can produce 1.5 billion gummies annually in a range of shapes including gummy bears, gumdrops, and cubes. Its starch-free production lines can produce a variety of gummies made of pectin, agar, carrageenan, gelatin, and combinations formulas, and allows for flexibility and gluten-free products.
Captek has pilot-scale equipment which can later scale up, allowing the company to produce samples for evaluation that closely mirror full-scale production equipment, improving a product’s time-to-market.
The SQF-certified facility employs a staff of nearly 100 associates with over 25 years of combined experience developing and manufacturing nutraceutical gummies with multi-ingredient combinations. The team is working to obtain organic, kosher, and halal certifications, among others.
“We are thrilled to introduce our advanced gummy manufacturing capabilities," said Randy Bridges, chief executive officer at Captek Softgel International. "This new facility is expected to substantially increase our capacity and position our organization to manufacture a wider array of products to satisfy changing customer demand. This investment will further position Captek as a leader in contract manufacturing as well as play a significant role in our future growth plans.”
