Baker Dillon Group LLC, a health and wellness brand marketing firm, has introduced a new media training team to expand its services for doctors seeking to enhance their presentation skills. The firm’s media training team will offer its services nationwide.
The Baker Dillon Group media training team will initially consist of five experienced, award-winning television and print news professionals. Training programs are designed to position doctors as credible, authoritative voices in the health and wellness community.
“Health professionals are in high demand in the media to deliver sharp, informed, and thoughtful messaging to audiences hungry for trusted insights,” said Sheldon Baker, CEO of Baker Dillon Group and leader of the new media training team. “Providing in-person training nationwide, our goal is to ensure health professionals make an impact, whether interfacing with the media, participating on podcasts, in a print interview, or speaking at industry or public events.”
Baker, who serves as editor-at-large for consumer and trade health and wellness publications, said that while interviewing doctors online, a large percentage of top-level doctors affiliated with prestigious hospitals, clinics, universities, and corporate entities, lack the necessary skills needed to deliver their message with impact.
Michael A. Smith, MD, director of education for the Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Life Extension, said the company’s staff doctors were trained in preparation for appearances on the late Suzanne Somers Balancing Act television show.
“Everything from how to respond to questions, dress, sit, and more were covered by the training team,” said Smith. “The information was invaluable and evergreen in nature.”
Mark Priddy, former co-founder and president of the Boise, Idaho-based Richardson Labs, said media training helped their staff doctor bring company messages to life during every type of interview.
“Training prepared our doctor to convey real alternative health product benefits in layman’s terms to garner consumer attention,” Priddy said.
“We feel the media training provides results that speak for themselves,” said Baker.
