Sports nutrition brand FYTA, founded by former UFC fighter James Wilks—known for the acclaimed documentary “The Game Changers” that chronicled his search for the optimal diet—has officially launched with its first product.
Elite Plant Protein features EverPro, a plant-based protein derived from barley upcycled from beer brewing. EverPro is the major ingredient of EverGrain which is a subsidiary of AB InBev based in St. Louis, MO.
The Elite Plant Protein contains 30 grams of non-GMO plant protein including nine essential amino acids, 3 grams of fiber and 1 gram of sugar. According to the company, the product is highly soluble and offers a great taste as determined in a blind taste test conducted by the National Food Lab in 2022.
“It’s amazing to think that such a high quality, highly digestible and highly versatile protein was being thrown away,” said Wilks in a press release. “EverGrain’s efforts to upcycle a protein that would otherwise go to wase not only resulted in a truly unique product, but aligns with our mission to create a stronger, healthier population and planet.”
