The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is hosting a webinar to discuss how to comply with the food facility registration requirement on Thursday, Aug. 11 at 10 am PT / 1 am ET.
U.S. and foreign human and animal food facilities that are required to register with FDA must renew their registration between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31 this year. Registration and access information for the webinar is available here.
This year’s registration period marks the end of FDA enforcement discretion, in which the agency allowed facilities to operate without obtaining and providing a unique facility identifier (UFI). FDA requires the use of Dun & Bradstreet Data Universal Numbering system (DUNS) number for this purpose.
The webinar will cover the details of facility registration, the process for obtaining a DUNS number, and the UFI requirement. Details on compliance with the UFI requirement are also available in FDA guidance on the subject.
