Nutralliance has entered into an exclusive sales and distribution agreement with Globionic, a Siberia, Russia-based supplier specializing in ingredients from Eastern Europe. The agreement covers the distribution of Lavitol DHQ dihydroquercetin, which is a potent flavonoid found in the larch tree.
Globionic was formed to locate unique and wild-sourced ingredients from Eastern Europe companies to expand their businesses in the U.S. and elsewhere.
“There is an abundance of unique resources specific to this region,” Bill Knudson, Globionic president and CEO, said. “Many ingredient suppliers are there, however, they tend to lack the understanding of how to successfully market their researched ingredients in the U.S. There are numerous cultural, language, transportation, and financing hurdles that hinder their expansion in North America, and Globionic was created to bridge those issues.”
Lavitol dihydroquercetin (DHQ) is obtained from the Dahurian Larch, and it is distinctive in its chemical profile and biological actions from arabinogalactan, a more common extract of larch trees. DHQ is considered one of nature’s more powerful antioxidants and helps recycle vitamin C while limiting its oxidation, Globionic reports. Lavitol DHQ has also been shown in clinical trials to support cardiovascular, respiratory, immune, eye, skin, liver, and endocrine health, the company reports.
Lavitol is extracted sustainably, via a patented technology which allows it to be sourced from larch tree stumps left behind from wood industry harvesting. It is produced year-round, and with an annual production of 13 tons of finished material in a ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000-2005, and HACCP-compliant facility.
