Expanding its list of good manufacturing practice (GMP) certifications, Deerland Probiotics & Enzymes, supplier of science-backed solutions for microbiome health, has received Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Certification for its Kennesaw, GA, facilities.
TGA certification represents that Deerland has demonstrated GMP management practices and systems in compliance with the manufacturing standards established by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. With this most recent certification in Kennesaw and the existing certification renewal at the company’s Forsyth, MO, facility, all of Deerland’s facilities have earned the elite status. In addition, the Denmark-based facility of Bifodan A/S, recently acquired by Deerland, has a mutual recognition agreement with Australia enabling it to produce TGA-certified products as well.
The TGA Certification puts Deerland in an elite group of manufacturers who have passed the rigorous quality standards of the Australian government to manufacture and export “therapeutic goods,” which includes dietary supplement products, to Australia. The TGA Certification is also recognized and accepted by other governments worldwide. “This achievement is a key milestone for Deerland and is reflective of our entire team’s commitment to quality,” said Scott Ravech, CEO.
Hope Hanley, vice president of quality and regulatory affairs for Deerland explained, “the TGA audits are on par with U.S. pharmaceutical audits. They perform a stringent evaluation of the manufacturing facility, engineering, cleanliness, SOPs, and quality systems to ensure product integrity.”
In addition to this TGA certification, Deerland’s facilities are GMP certified by NSF for dietary supplements and sport.
