According to an Associated Press article, biotech firm CK Life Sciences, Hong Kong, has acquired an 80% stake in Vitaquest International, Delaware, totaling $166 million. CK Life Sciences International (Holdings) will also help Vitaquest repay debts of approximately $143 million after completing the acquisition. CK Life Sciences specializes in the development and sale of biotechnology products, including fertilizers and nutritional supplements. The article claims the acquisition will help CK Life Sciences accelerate the development of its global nutraceuticals business. Currently Vitaquest’s manufacturing arm, Garden State Nutritionals, West Caldwell, NJ, serves more than 35 countries worldwide.
