Enzymotec Obtains Patent for Omega-Sterols

Description:
Israel-based Enzymotec has received a new patent for Omega-Sterols (No. AU-0552025002) from the Australian patent office. The patent refers to the use of Omega-Sterols as a functional food for diabetics and is part of five different patents that cover the various properties, composition and methods of use for the product. Omega-sterols are composed of naturally occurring hybrids of phytosterols and omega 3s. Omega-Sterols were clinically proven to be effective for blood lipid control, and efficient in supporting healthy levels of both blood triglycerides and LDL-cholesterol (bad cholesterol) in humans, according to the company.
