Proprietary Nutritionals, Inc., Kearny, NJ, has received authorization from the KFDA (Korean FDA) for its Cran-Max cranberry concentrate to carry the functional claim: “Functional food ingredient that is helpful for urinary tract health.” In official documents, the commissioner of the Korean Food and Drug Administration in August declared “[Cran-Max] is approved functional food ingredient according to Article 10 of the Regulation on Approval of Functional Ingredient for Health Functional Food.”
