Darrin Duber-Smith, president, Green Marketing, Inc., Nederland, CO, and Susan Apito, president, Botanical Elements Trade Association, Glastonbury, CT, have formed an organization whose mission it is to address the meaning of the word “natural”. The International Association of Natural Product Producers (IANPP) has been formed to develop specific criteria, approved and forbidden ingredients, labeling guidelines and a certification program for using “natural” in product positioning and marketing communications. The IANPP is now accepting charter members, who will be involved in forming the final criteria and guidelines over the next few months. For further information visit www.ianpp.org.
