Beflora, a sweet prebiotic fiber distributed by Triarco Industries, Wayne, NJ, has achieved Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status via self-affirmation. Beflora products are described as oligofructose, fructose and sprouted mung bean extract. Roxlor International, Manasquan, NJ, manufacturers of Beflora and Beflora Plus conducted a review of literature and analytical tests on Beflora blends, a review of manufacturing methods and procedures employed in the manufacture of Beflora products and an analysis of estimated daily intakes (EDI) for certain present formula applications.
In other developments, Triarco recently signed an exclusive five-year contract with Integrated Health Technology, Hillside, NJ,. The first phase of Triarco’s launch will include Phytavail chromium, selenium, zinc and multiminerals. Phytavail products are produced utilizing a plant-based mineral transfer process that ensures solubility in the human body. Ongoing studies are currently being funded by the National Cancer Institute.
