Illuminating Nature to Restore Human Health

Bioactives are health-activating, small molecule compounds found in plants, fungi and bacteria, and have traditionally been used to support human health. However, new bioactive compounds are incredibly difficult to find, isolate, and map to human health impact. Considered the “dark matter” of plants, the vast majority of bioactives are still hidden in nature and yet to be explored.

Discovered through AI, Validated by Clinical Research

Our Forager AI platform guides our discovery of bioactives at a rate and speed that was previously impossible, opening this vast opportunity space for the first time. We use Forager and our proprietary database of plant compounds to identify novel bioactives and connect them to human health benefits, then validate these benefits with clinical research. To-date, Forager has mapped more than 7 million plant compounds and more than 40,000 bioactives and their impacts across 23 health areas including digestive health and the gut microbiome.

Brightseed®Bio Gut Fiber – the First Ingredient in our Bioactives Pipeline

A novel source of insoluble dietary fiber made from upcycled hemp hulls, Brightseed® Bio Gut Fiber boasts two naturally occurring bioactives with the potential to support gut strength through enhanced gut barrier function¹. Delivering on microbiome support, this unique fiber ingredient imparts prebiotic effects as confirmed in a publication-pending pre-clinical study, demonstrating a significant increase in alpha diversity and short chain fatty acid production. Bio Gut Fiber is certified Kosher, Halal, Upcycled Certified, and Non-GMO Project Verified. In addition to these, Brightseed is also proud to offer a certified Organic version of the ingredient. As a nutritional powerhouse, Bio Gut Fiber can be formulated into functional food, beverage, and supplement applications, including ready-to-mix (RTM) powder, ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages, bars, cereals, granolas, or extruded snacks.
