According to the “Global New Products Database,” a new report released by Mintel, Chicago, IL, the number of new products introduced worldwide increased over 30% in 2004, surpassing 150,000. New food and beverage products globally totaled 81,000 in 2004, while non-food introductions reached 68,000. Categories that experienced the greatest growth included bakery, beverages, dairy products, snacks, cosmetics, haircare and skincare.
