A technical data sheet has been released by National Starch on the qualification of Hi-maize™ resistant starch as dietary fiber for labeling purposes. Hi-maize tests as fiber per the official American Organization of Analytical Chemists (AOAC) methods. According to the publication, Hi-maize resistant starch is unique because it is the only natural RS2 starch currently available in the U.S. and has been used in foods for more than 10 years. The publication also cites numerous scientific studies that show Hi-maize promotes digestive and metabolic health, energy and blood sugar management.
