The International Food Information Service (IFIS), Reading, U.K., has launched the Food Science and Technology Bulletin: Functional Foods (ISSN:1476-2137), which is the first in a new series of electronic review journals offering concise summaries of developments in key areas of food science, technology and nutrition. The Food Science and Technology Bulletin: Functional Foods is an online publication designed to meet the current-awareness information needs of busy professionals in the area of food science and technology. Edited by Professor Glenn Gibson of Reading University and peer-reviewed, the journal utilizes the Internet for rapid publication and dissemination, and is hosted at the IFIS website, www.foodsciencecentral.com.
