NutraCea, El Dorado Hills, CA, has released the results from the first phase of a pilot study conducted at the University of New Mexico Medical School titled, “Effects of Stabilized Rice Bran on the Inhibition of Platelet Aggregation.” The trial focused on understanding the mechanisms behind the antithrombotic properties of NutraCea’s flagship product, Rice Solubles™. The first phase of the trial was focused on the safety of using a whole food in treating cerebral and cardiovascular risk factors. The results indicated a significant reduction in the blood clotting factors.
