Metagenics, San Clemente, CA, recently completed its Gig Harbor, WA, campus which will consolidate operations and serve as a model for the future of functional medicine. A manufacturing plant was previously constructed on a planned campus site in 1998. Now adjoining this plant is a new 20,000 square foot facility to consolidate the existing Metagenics laboratories, medical library and information center and a computer-based scientific information system. These laboratories include a food technology lab for the development of new medical foods and nutraceuticals and a biochemistry research lab for the evaluation of new ingredients and products. This corporate campus will also be the new home for the Functional Medicine Research Center (FMRC), which conducts in-depth human clinical studies on new Metagenics products.
