Nutrition 21 Initiates Diachrome™ Study
Purchase, NY-based Nutrition 21 has launched a broad initiative to evaluate the clinical benefits of the company’s recently patented combination of chromium picolinate and biotin known as Diachrome™. The Nutrition 21 national initiative is called “The Patient Experience Program,” and it unites a diverse group of parties interested in reducing the $100 billion in costs associated with the care of the more than 16 million Americans with type 2 diabetes. Diabetes educators representing more than twenty managed care organizations, hospitals, clinics and government agencies will administer the program to more than 500 patients nationwide, providing them with patient care kits that include a three month supply of Diachrome, furnished by Nature’s Bounty (NBTY), Bohemia, NY, and patient education literature supplied by the American Diabetes Association.
