Dow Coating Materials is showcasing new innovative platforms, products and business solutions to formulators attending the American Coatings Show.
“Our goal at the American Coatings Show is to expand upon the highly collaborative relationship we already have with our customers,” said Joan Shuller, vice president and general manager, Dow Coating Materials, North America. “We want to bring our customers, as well as other leaders across industry associations and educators, closer to an even broader array of experts responsible for new chemistry innovation. It’s just one more way we stay ahead of the competition and ensure our customers get the most out of the Dow Coating Materials team.”
At the ACS Dow Coating Materials is exhibiting several new products. Rhoplex VSR2015 with Versair technology was introduced at the show. This new latex binder based on low odor technology allows formulators to develop paint with an extremely low odor profile, while still offering the performance attributes of Rhoplex brand. These include no to low-VOC formulating capabilities, weatherability and durability.
D.E.R. 6510 solid epoxy resin enables the formulation of fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) pipeline coatings with glass transition temperatures exceeding 160˚C. Coatings made with this new resin will allow oil and gas companies to dig deeper into the earth’s crust, where heat and pressure would have destroyed equipment only a few years ago.
Dow Coating Materials also launched Designed Diffusion Technology, a new patented process that uses a blend of a hard polymer and a specially designed soft polymer to deliver higher productivity and lower VOC in industrial coating formulations. Invizipro is a new technology that can enable clear coating that provides a matte look with excellent clarity and resistance properties. Key additional features of this technology include soft touch and burnish resistance.
