At Vitafoods Europe 2022, ingredient supplier Nexira will focus discussions on four of its most recent studies, each conducted on a unique health application: gut health, urinary comfort, beauty from within, and sports nutrition.

Inavea

The company will discuss research on Inavea, a pure acacia that is an all-natural, organic, and GMO-free source of dietary fiber. Inavea Pure Acacia offers a carbon neutral footprint, and is known for its high digestive tolerance for fiber enrichment and a prebiotic effect in a large variety of applications. The ingredient was recently studied for its role in the predominantly constipated category of people with IBS. The ingredient was also evidenced to be valuable in occasional constipation in the general population.

Exocyan

The company will also discuss Exocyan, a cranberry extract standardized in proanthocyanidins (PACs). The company recently conducted a six-month clinical study on 209 women who had current urinary discomforts with UTI episodes, which entailed medical consultation, antibiotic treatments, and characterized impact on quality of life. Exocyan CRAN 40G was shown in a recent clinical study to have efficacy in improving the urinary comfort and psychological status of the participants, according to the company. Additionally, the ingredient also had better results as measured by assessments of quality of life. 93% of consumers would recommend Exocyan 40G to a friend, according to the company’s findings.

Nutribeauty

Nexira also offers natural, organic, clean-label ingredients that cover skin glow and beauty, youth and prevention, and hair and nail care, the company reports. In 2022 Nexira is launching a study called “IN-TEST-PASS.” The company is working to formulate a scientific methodology combining genes expression assessment and model that mimics the bioavailability of oral ingredients, which it coined as the Nutrigenomic for skin.

In this study, the results found efficacious results for three of the company’s products: Hepure, a formula of immortelle and clove, was shown to support skin detoxification, a guard against pollution, cigarette smoke, and UV; the company’s hibiscus extract was shown to improve skin tonicity; and the company’s ingredient Oli-Ola was shown to brighten skin against the aging effects on mature skins.

Vinitrox

Nexira has conducted two new consumer studies on its sports nutrition ingredient Vinitrox, a combination of apple and grape polyphenol extracts. 70% of consumers agree that Vinitrox reduce muscle fatigue and cardio-respiratory fatigue, and consumers said that Vinitrox increased individual power during “clean” exercise from the first take, according to the company.
