The 10-module course offers insights, strategies, and real-world examples from top experts to enhance product development.

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a global nonprofit committed to advancing the science of food, has launched a Product Development Bootcamp designed to help improve skills and knowledge, accelerate new product development, and improve market success of new products.

The 10-module course is intended to equip food and beverage professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in this competitive environment. Ideal for both novices and veterans, the course offers insights, practical strategies, and real-world examples from top experts to accelerate and enhance product development.

“The product development process can be a long, arduous process,” said IFT Chief Science and Technology Officer Bryan Hitchcock. “From the moment a product opportunity has been identified through the launch of that new or modified product, time is one of the most valuable resources a product developer has. That’s why IFT developed the Product Development Bootcamp, to teach and reinforce time-saving approaches that give product developers the right tools to efficiently overcome challenges and bring products to market safely and effectively.”

Each module will help learners better understand how to:

  • Leverage Consumer Trends
  • Ask Better Questions
  • Communicate Effectively to Marketing
  • Approach Product Formulations
  • Optimize Cost & Quality
  • Source Ingredients
  • Avoid Allergen Contamination in Your Product Design
  • Avoid Food Safety Issues in Your Product Design
  • Approach Shelf-Life Testing
  • Scale-Up Smoothly

Upon completion of the course, learners will earn an IFT Product Development certificate and also gain year-round access to resources and tools.
